Pizza for the locals... Pizzeria 712

Pizzeria 712

Hello UT locals or welcomed visitors... if you are looking for a great place to eat tonight or this weekend and haven't tried Pizzeria 712, you've got to give it a whirl. A friend and I ate here for lunch today (even with the kids who liked their ham + cheese panini) and it was as yummy as always, and we even sat outside. It is one of my favorite UT county spots.

(ps. If you are a local UT reader, let me know!)

Have a most lovely weekend!

Any exciting plans? We have a weekend full of stuff but I am ready to catch up on a little zzzz.... Happy Friday all!

Under the Same Moon

Under the Same Moon

How many of you enjoy foreign films? It is tricky to find someone who will sit down and watch one with me, (not everyone loves to read subtitles) but this last weekend a friend and I watched Under the Same Moon. This inspirational flick tells a story about the challenges of immigration with great heart through a young boy's long journey seeking to unite with his mother again. It has a universal appeal, is gripping at times, but of course ends well. The little boy's character was both uplifting and endearing. Watch the trailer here.

What about you ... have you seen any interesting films lately?

Regina Spektor

Regina Spektor, Far

Regina's new album Far comes out June 23rd, (pre-order here) but did you see her new video that came out a few days ago? Perhaps some inspiration for the video came from this surrealist painting by Dali, and this by Escher? Thoughts?

All in a Day

All in a Day by award winning author Cythia Rylant not only has a sweet message, but has breathtakingly beautiful art by Nikki McClure. I still can't get over the fact that talented Washingtonian (Go Olympia!) Nikki does all of the above paper-cuts by hand. If you look close at the above photos, all of the hand-cut black space is connected, wow she is incredible. A great overall children's book.

Virtual Garage Sale

I am in a big spring clean mood, realizing that there are many things in my closets that I haven't ever used, or used in a while, so I am having a virtual garage sell... gotta love ebay. I will keep adding to it this week. Here is my store.

Happy Music Monday, I mean Tuesday. I hope you all had an upbeat weekend! I am really digging this disco vibe song by Sweedish rockers Mando Diao, and the video is super cool. Thoughts? Video Directed by Matt Wignall (great website) & Vern Moen.

Sundance

Sundance

My sweet husband surprised me last night and took me up to Sundance and out to dinner. It reminded me of how much I love the beauty of nature. If you are ever in Utah, or live here... it is a wonderful place to visit.

A quote on the wall read,

"This place in the mountains,
amid nature's casualness toward death and birth,
is the perfect host for the inspiration of ideas:
harsh at times, life-threatening in its winters of destruction
but tender in attention to the details
of every petal of every wildflower resurrected in the spring.
Nature and creativity obey the same laws,
to the same end: life.
-Robert Redford.

how super-stylin :)
my make a difference mo was last xmas when i decided not to wrap everything in paper that would just be ripped and thrown out.. i invested in a few different sized white boxes that simply need a pretty ribbon tied around each of them. they looked beautiful under the tree and we will re-use them every birthday and xmas.

Twitter

Among the growing list of the social media Twitter is smoking hot, well it has been for a while, tweeting since '06, but lately I've seen a lot of people sidestepping off the facebook bandwagon and onto the Twitter mobile. For those unaware, it is kind of like text messaging to the masses (read about it here) How many of you use Twitter? I've been tweeting for a little bit but am still trying to get the hang of it. Follow me here.

Some people were born to tweet, others including myself may still be a little confused about it all, but for the first time this week, I found it enjoyable to update, read other people's tweets, and quickly converse tidbits about various topics.

What are your thoughts about twitter? What do you tweet about? Who is one of your favorite people to follow?
